Our Story

The story of Posat Restaurant begins in the 90’s, with two friends, Mr. Mario Ševelj and Mr. Ivica Udženija working together in hotel Excelsior, a flag tag of superior service, rubbing shoulders with the very best chefs in Dubrovnik.

Sophia Loren, Roger Moore, Marlon Brando are just a few in the long line of prestigious guests that were hosted by their mentors.

With that knowledge and experience, these two friends opened Posat Restaurant in 2004., and since then, this place has been raising the bar for fine dining in Dubrovnik.

Keeping our seafood always very fresh is our top priority, and we can guarantee that.

What makes Posat unique compared to other seafood restaurants is a large seawater aquarium full of tasty lobster and other seafood. You just pick your meal, sit back, relax and enjoy. It can’t get any fresher than that.

Farm-to-table is one of our guiding principles in work.

Knowing where our ingredients came from, and how they were grown, allows us to maintain the highest standards in our restaurant.

Our chef Ivica grows most of the vegetables we use in his own gardens in a village near Dubrovnik, and everything else is provided by local farmers we personally know.

From the moment you step in Posat, you can feel the timeless charm and harmonic elegance of our interior design that will make you indulge in a moment of pure satisfaction.

We’re known for outstanding service, and that’s because we pay special attention to maintaining high standards, even when it comes to the smallest details.

Combined with romantic ambience, amazing view and world class food, you’re about to feel a perfect dining experience.
Our hotel recommended and booked this restaurant for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary dinner. It was an inspired choice. The food was amazing and the staff attentive and friendly. We were really well looked after, thanks to the staff for making our evening so special.

Excellent food, wine and service. Waiters extremely attentive – but we tried to avoid the piano playing, which was advertised as starting at 21.30 . He started at 20.00hrs , by which time we were well into our meal. We had to move to enjoy our evening and when we enquired why music started so early, the Maître D was extremely sarcastic – challenging us to explain why we were still in his restaurant ! It was an unpleasant end to a lovely meal and the rest of the staff were quite embarrassed and apologetic.

Absolutely amazing service from the waiter Harvey – he was so knowledgeable and made the experience top notch.
We had 3 GF and the menu was adapted to us.
We had one vegetarian who was catered for.
All dietary requirements catered for with no fuss. We had the fresh fish with vegetables.
Wines were nice.
Definitely recommend this place.
We were family of six for spontaneous lunch and not booked.
Pricey but worth every kuna !!!!!!!

The service was exceptional, attentive without being overbearing. All the food was flavorful and well presented. Great location and decor. Michelin should be dining here not the other places in town
